Response to the Gottfried Helnwein work

I feel the photographer is trying to state that the girl is mysterious or there isn't much known about her. The man is scaled down because there is a lot to know about the girl behind the surface and the man wants to know her better. The man is trying to climb to her head to that maybe he could try and feel what she's feeling and try to understand her.
